5. WORLD TREE NUT EXPORTS AND IMPORTS

Overall, world tree-nut trade has tended to rise over the last few years: up by 19% between 2018 and 2022. Almonds were the most traded tree nut during this period, followed by cashews, walnuts, pistachios and hazelnuts (Figure 25).

The most remarkable relative increments in 2022 were observed for pine nuts and almonds total exports, which rose by 37% and 35%, respectively, compared to 2018 (Figures 25 and 26).
