2. WORLD PEANUT PRODUCTION
Total peanut production was estimated at about 49 M MT for the 2022/23 season (Figure 13). Around 41% of world peanut production is crushed for oil and meal production.
China accounted for 36% of world production (5-year average), followed by India, which ranked second, totaling 13%. Nigeria and the USA were the third and fourth producers with 9% and 6% of the share respectively. Finally, Senegal and Argentina each amounted to 3% of the world total (Figure 14).
