1.2. World Brazil (Amazonia) Nut Production
Brazil (Amazonia) nuts are sustainably gathered from the Amazonian rainforest in Bolivia, Peru and Brazil, thus their production varies greatly from year to year, depending on the environmental and market conditions. In 2022/23 it totaled 29,000 MT (Figure 3).
nTotal production between 2018/19 and 2022/23 averaged around 29,700 MT (kernel basis).
nBolivia is the top producing country. On average, over the previous five years, it accounted for 75% of production (Figure 5).
