1.4. World Hazelnut Production

World hazelnut production averaged ca. 528,600 MT (kernel basis) over the previous 5 seasons and reached about 584,500 MT in 2022/23 (Figure 2).

Tu00fcrkiye is the main producer of hazelnuts. Over the last five years it has accounted for 69% of the world share, amounting to 357,600 MT.

The worldu2019s second biggest producer was Italy, which ranged between 44,000 MT and 75,200 MT during the same period (Figure 7).
