1.5. World Macadamia Production

Global macadamia production has been significantly increasing over the last few years: the 5-year average added up to ca. 65,800 MT (kernel basis) and reached about 78,400 MT in 2022 (Figure 3), 33% higher than in 2018.

South Africa and Australia were the main producers, responsible for 51% of the world share, followed by China (15%) and Kenya (12%).

The rest of the producing countries accounted for 5% or less each (Figure 8).
