5.4. World Hazelnut Exports and Imports
On average, the main exporters of hazelnuts for the 2015-2019 period were the major producing countries: Turkey, the top world producer accounted for 75% of hazelnuts exports, followed by Italy, Azerbaijan and Georgia (Table 4).
Germany, as a processor, transit and a great consumer country, amounted to 25% of the world hazelnut imports. Over 62% of hazelnut top exports destinations were European countries (Table 4).
