5.8. World Pistachio Exports and Imports

The biggest pistachio producers, the USA and Iran concentrated 75% of world exports (average 2015-2019), totaling 261,000 MT of traded in-shell pistachios.

China accounted for 11% of shipments over the same period, and Germany and Belgium for the following 5% (Table 8).

China ranked as the first pistachio importer, reaching over 100,000 MT, representing 30% of the world share (Table 8).
