5.9. World Walnut Exports and Imports

On average (2015-2019), 49% of shelled walnut exports came from the USA, followed by Ukraine, Chile and Moldova, which together totaled 27% of the share (Table 9).

China, despite being the top average producer, accounted for only 3% of world exports (below Germany), meaning that there is also significant domestic consumption.

Germany stands out as the top walnut importer (Table 9), as well as being a significant consumer.
